This blog was born from taking photos of what I cook, posting them to FB and then being inundated by folks for the recipe.
It's pretty simple really.
I was raised on meat and potatoes at every meal, and later, canned and boxed foods.
Now, with an autoimmune illness that was caused by a dairy allergy, I am searching for remission and healing my system of the damage it all caused.
My diet is a nightmare. I am a dairy-free, gluten-free, mostly plant-based, sometimes vegetarian that hates fish. Yep. I do believe I have an eating disorder at this point looking for a cure for my illness that presents much like Multiple Sclerosis for me.
I raised my son as a single mother on home cooking because it was less expensive and healthiest. When I became a step mother, I removed all Hot Pockets from the home and instilled healthier eating for my step son. They are both adults now, and out on their own, but they are still very much foodies.
I still cook at home mostly because eating out is not easy — so, you'll see our journey here play out as we have progressed from meat and potatoes when I first started the blog to mostly plant-based foods now.
