Turkey Burgers

I love turkey burgers when they are moist and full of flavor and these fit that description! They’re much healthier for you if you’re watching your weight but still want meat. They are also pretty! And who doesn’t like a pretty turkey burger? 😀


1 lb.- ground turkey

1- egg

4 oz.- feta cheese

Fresh spinach- One large handful, chopped

1/2 red pepper, seeded, cleaned and chopped into small pieces

Onion flakes to your taste

Thyme – Sprinkle across the top back and forth




Put turkey in a large mixing bowl, set aside

Chop your spinach and add that

Clean, de-seed and dice your pepper into small pieces and add that

Scramble one egg and add that

Add your spices: salt, pepper, thyme, onion flakes and stir

Fold in your feta cheese

Mix well with your hands

Divide into 4 large burgers or 6 smaller burgers

Note: The meat mixture will be a bit soft and very mushy to handle, but don’t be alarmed they will firm up nicely while cooking. If you have an indoor grill that has no slots you can grill them, or a wire burger turner, thingy… you know that flippy thing for an outdoor grill that the burger patties go between and you close it? And I may not even use that unless you cook them a bit first… otherwise you may lose them through the slots of the grill from being soft.

Fry in a bit of olive oil in a skillet on high at first to brown each side, 2 minutes each side then once browned

Turn down the heat to medium to medium-low and cover with a lid for about 10-15 minutes or until juices run clear checking on them once every few minutes to flip and make sure each side is browned the same.

Plate them alone and eat that way or pair with a bun.

How I like them: 

Turkey Burger, no bun with Roasted Cauliflower and chips! Mmmmm! Oh, and these are great for a post-workout snack the next day too!

Additional Suggestion: 

I mostly eat mine plain because they are so tasty like this, but rosemary mayo is pretty darn good on these puppies too.


Put 2 Tbsp. Mayo in a small bowl, add dried rosemary or fresh to your taste, salt and pepper and stir. Smear on the top of the burger and enjoy!
